Halifax Town in tax debt shock
Blue Square Premier club Halifax Town have revealed that they currently owe the taxman £250,000 and also have outstanding bills of £50,000 to local traders.
Administrators Rod Sadler and Peter Sargent have been working on the club's books ahead of the announcement of it's sale next Tuesday.
However, the consortium led by David Bosomworth and Bobby Ham have already expressed a strong interest in acquiring the club and have put in loans of £400,000.
"The club will continue to trade and as far as I am aware there is no intention to sell players," Begbies Traynor administrator Peter Sargent told the Evening Courier.
One bit of good news for Shaymen supporters is that because there are no football creditors, the likelihood of problems with HM Revenue and Customs or the Football Association is reduced.
There would also be no need for job cuts as the consortium is funding the club through administration.
