Default Who is a bigger Club?

Okay I want an honest answer to this. There has been a little debait on the sunderland site about this. Who is the bigger club, West ham or Sunderland? I don't want any biased opinions. I'm just curious to get a non biased view from people around the country and the world .

(Don't worry I'm not gonna shoot you if you say West Ham, this is merely to settle a debait)

West Ham in my opinion.

Never once met a Sunderland supporter in Australia but I see West Ham fans all the time.

It's a good question that Libbi. Personally I can't stand West Ham but as a club I would say Sunderland are bigger (attendances show that) but from a World-Wide perspective I would say West Ham, because of what they won in the past etc

I'd go along with that. Makes sense to me.

Yeah, you will struggle to see West Ham getting 40,000+ week in week out, especially with Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea doing well.

I remember when Sunderland were bottom of the Championship when they come to Southend, I said to my girlfriend that they would bring a few fans down prob about 1000. How wrong I was, they totally filled up the away end, plus loads more. They must have had something like 2500 there in total, not bad for a 6hr+ away trip bottom of the league!

Croud wise yes we are bigger, no doubt about that. Our fans mainly reside in the north east and in Ireland. West ham have more fans around the world and are better known around the world. That makes me say West Ham. I don't like West ham but there are many clubs I hate more. Obviously as a sunderland fan I'd love to say yeah, Sunderland are bigger, but looking at it from all points of view, my opinion says West ham are a bigger club. Thanks for the input so far, but more opinions would be nice from other members

i think sunderland are on the brink of something and the keane years will be remembered fondly, but at current you would have to say west ham as a club and brand are "bigger" and more well known especially here cause of lucas niell....and that crap movie with frodo playn a thug...
