I think in the Premier League there have been 3 obvious examples of where a club has exploited their status and signed a player they never really had any/ much intention of using.
I'm talking of course when Chelsea signed Parker to stop Charlton making the Uefa Cup. When Manchester United signed Dong Fang Zhou pretty much just to raise their marketing in China just as what happened when they signed Park Ji Sung. (For Park its questionable whether or not that was for purely marketing purposes only, I'm inclined to think not). I'm sure theres probably other examples of that happening too and I think its disgusting. What do you think? Oh and this isnt an attack at United or Chelsea.

i agree but not on park, the kid is quality....i`m sure if he spoke fluent english he would be even better.there is so much at stake for the big clubs im sure players are signed purely for marketing and also to stop other teams from signing them.

Park is f**king quality and i love seeing him out there on the pitch, so no, he is deffinetley not. But Dong, Christ almighty, he is awful and would struggle in a championship side.
