Alan Buckley finally gets his man, after agreeing a 3-month loan deal with Barnsley's Simon Heslop.
The 21 year old attacking-midfielder had been tracked by the Mariners gaffer over the past year, and Buckley is delighted to have finally grabbed him on loan, with an onsight look at a permanent deal.
Unfortunately he will miss the remainding pre-season games agaisnt Scunthorpe today, and Brigg on Monday, but he will most likely start against Rochdale on the 9th, replacing the injured Paul Bolland.
This is great news. We are currently having serious injury problems in midfield, with Bolland out for a few weeks, Boshell still looking unfit to play, and a few knocks being passed around, so Heslop should fit the bill well, and he is just the player we need, with the attacking presence which he has. Looking forward to seeing him play agaisnt Rochdale, hopefully he can prove himself and Buckley can seal him on a permanent deal
