Dimitar Berbatov is poised to complete a £28million move to Manchester United by this weekend

The striker has become increasingly desperate to move to Old Trafford and is expected to get his wish.

Tottenham reported United to the Premier League over their pursuit of the Bulgarian international last month, but that won't prevent the transfer from going ahead.

Spurs are believed to be close to signing an additional striker and that is why they are now ready to let him go, although the club are determined to get the best possible price for Berbatov.

They have been pursuing Zenit St Petersburg forward Andrei Arshavin and Spartak Moscow star Roman Pavlyuchenko, and head coach Juande Ramos still has a large transfer fund.

Ramos publicly declared after the 5-0 win over Roma on Sunday that he hoped Berbatov would stay, but it is not a view shared by everyone behind the scenes.

The 27-year-old is believed to have upset people within the club for his attitude during pre-season and was substituted at half-time against Roma following a lacklustre display.

This means they have now sold Defoe, Keane and Berbatov and their only striker is Bent?

And this is a team that is supposed to be beating a team with Adebayor, van Persie, Bendtner etc to fourth?

I don't think so love hahaha we havnt got another striker and well he looks to me that hes staying hes started the other day and well I havent heard anything its all gone stale
He can't go becauese ronaldo is staying so don't think so hun maybe when hell freezes over he wont go manu he will go a club thats not english

Looks like it, on sky sports news again about 10 mins ago.
Looking at the stats, if berb goes to utd they will have the top 3 players in prem for goals and assists. Ronaldo, Rooney and Berb
