Sorry but what particular adverts are you talking about? as certain adverts do different things.

If you are talking about the new google adds at the top of the site, then yes they do help when people click

No I had one click yesterday that generated $2.46, that along with the other clicks I got gave me a total of about $5 which is nice for a days work. Sometimes you don't get any clicks and other days you do, now I have vbseo running im hoping it will be on the up and will help with the running costs.

All the big sites on big-board and vbseo have the adds like mine and they are hugely succesful sites that generate thousands per day on adds.

If my members and guests can click on them then ill be happy and the site can continue to grow as this helps us move in the right direction.

Your entitled to your opinion, If I decide they get too much as they are then I will take them off but at the moment the google adds are doing fine and the other adds are too as they generate hits from other sites If it was making 20p a week as you said then I wouldn't even bother

Yes they can make the site look a little messy but they actually help in many ways

If they annoy you that much just get Firefox with Adblock Plus - thats what I got, of course I set it to allow ads for sites such as this to help them but on the huge sites that don't need any more money than they are getting because they are greedy buggers I leave it on to spite them haha... Anyway, yeah get adblock but in my opinion they are not bad and will not deter new visitors.

No sorry not changing my Browser because a site i use is now having ads. I simply wont use the site as much and believe me it will stop new members. Just ask FanBanta what happened to them when they introduced ads to their sites........ If you can contact them that is as they went out of business.

Spot on, with the amount I have been spending on advertising and seo recently to improve the longtime future of the site it's required and it helps!

I really don't see how it's bad or ruins the site, in my opinion it doesn't and it fits in well. I may however stop the top one from showing images so it's just text, this in my opinion not only looks better but fits the site in more. I can also stop the adds from showing for certain user types, again I may do this later but as Stu and Libbi have said it's great to support your site and if you really don't like it for the time being then you can always block them.
