Default England Winning The World Cup

Who thinks England have a chance of winning the World Cup 2012. They're dure a trophy. After, out Euro heartbreak they should make up for it.

I think if Capello uses a 4-4-2 formation.

GK David James
CB John Terry
CB Rio Ferdinand
RB Micah Richards
LB Ashley Cole
LM Joe Cole
RM David
DM Hargreaves
CM Gerrard
SS Wayne Rooney
CS Michael Owen

James save everything. Micah and Ashley getting up the wings. Center backs get every tackle. Wingers crossing. Gerrard bombing up the mid-field. Wayne running everywhere. Owen scoring goals.

I don' think so tbh. When you look at the passing and movement of some of the other european teams england look poor in comparision, I don't know why becuase there is some quality in there, they just don't seem to click together

formation seems pretty good. When you say David RM i take it you are talking about Bentley rather than Beckham? Becuase by 2012 I think Beckham's international career and maybe even his football career will be over.

Pretty standard England team outside that the only real debate is Gerrard/Lampard/Both and seen as they play poorly together Gerrard is the best option.

I'm still not convinced Owen will return to his best, England really need one of the fringe stikers to come through as a real goalscorer if they want a chance of making a real impact

As far as how far they will get I think it will be the usual between 2nd phase-Semi-Final depending on the draw and how long Terry/Ferdinand can scrape them through

I think they have a shot for winning it but they really need to get a consistent teamsheet happening.

They need a good goalkeeper which just isnt happening at the moment.

They need to start playing Downing on the left and Joe Cole on the right. They also need to play Hargreaves as a holding Midfielder. And Gerrard as an attacking midfielder. They need to play Defoe with Rooney as Rooney has the talent and Defoe has the scoring ability. Richards has to go on the right, Terry & Ferdinand in the middle and Cole on the left and they should be fine.

Where's Owen, he has to play he has the poaching ability and scores about every chance he gets. I mean he has about 40 goals in 80 matches at international level. That is a superb goal ratio. 1 goal in every two matches. England do have a couple of superb goalkeepers. James who I admit is old. However, Carson is good and we have Joe Hart, Man City's first choice. If he get chosen over a goalkeeper with the name Schmeichel he must be good.
